What's the issue with relocation?

If you move and then look for a job, you should have money to live for at least two months. Consider that everything is more expensive in NY. And jobs are really scarce right now. Did you talk to the company that hired you? They should give you some time ( not much ) for you to move. Talk to them, be honest and realistic about your situation. Good luck. You'll love NY!
