Why is the jesus birth scene at the courthouse?

i was in dixon illinois the other day and once again the jesus thing was there. last time i check there was suppose to be seperation of church and state. i think its wonderful for a church to have the scene but i believe that there is no reason why politics have to get involved. why do christians think they are seperior to all you dont see muslims or jews having to have their signs everywhere.
