Fix/Remove Popcorn ceiling?

I am a 37 year experienced painter and have sprayed and scd many popcorn ceilings(acoustic is what it is called)..they banned asbestos from drywall finishing materials around 1974 or 1978, but allowed the major manufacturers of it sell and hold what they had produced already in stock for resell...Asbestos was still known to be found in houses up to about 1983 , and the supplies finally deplenshied..If your house is newer than 1984 then It will not have asbestos in it..
